Yet another charity based blog coming at you...!!
In 5 weeks and 5 days I will be abseiling 100m down this....
Some may think I'm crazy, and you'd be right, but I'm taking this leap of faith in the hope that I can raise £900 for JDRF.
JDRF stands for 'Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation'; it funds research to cure, treat and prevent Type 1 Diabetes; if my target is reached, that money will fund 2 days of research.
Visit their website here for more information.
Type 1 Diabetes affects around 400,00 people in the UK, 29,000 of which are children, and this is on the rise with an increase in 4% annually.
This is an autoimmune disease which causes the immune system to attack and kill the insulin making cells within the Pancreas; insulin is vital in blood glucose level control within the blood.
Sufferers have to check their blood regularly and inject themselves with insulin to keep their blood glucose levels within a safe range.

This is a cause close to my heart. A special relative of mine has suffered with this illness for a few years now and had plans to raise the money herself. Unforeseen circumstances have left her unable to do so, so I stepped up and I'm doing this in her name.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this :)
